GardenSong provides a secure and comfortable home for eighteen Residents living with cognitive decline or higher acuity needs. Their daily journey offers them freedom to travel within this secure neighborhood. After rising at their own pace, Residents may opt to be escorted or arrive on their own at the dining room’s friendly breakfast bar, then on to the welcoming living room that is usually hosting a community of familiar friends ready for a word game, a conversation with a neighbor, or exercise. When a quieter space is desired there’s a lovely nook across from the staff hub. Our Residents and families appreciate that GardenSong’s neighborhood and garden are designed with circular patterns for safe wandering and exploration, while remaining in earshot of a caring staff member.

From the first crocuses in early spring to the last Montauk daisies in late fall, GardenSong’s garden space offers a delightful place to safely “while away the hours.” We’re outside every chance we get to enjoy musical events, exercise classes, afternoon gatherings, quiet chats, summertime meals, and private walks.

Memory Care Services

EastView’s expertise in delivering individualized dementia care within a group setting makes a compelling difference in the lives of our residents and their families every day. Care and engagement are usually inseparable for those with cognitive decline, whether it be brushing teeth, taking another bite of dinner, swallowing a dose of medicine, rising from a chair. We employ devoted staff who receive regular training. Many of our veteran caregivers have found their calling in GardenSong.

Comprehensive services covered by a base monthly fee include:

Three chef-prepared meals daily, plus healthy snacks
24-hour staff supervision and regular safety checks
Professional nursing assessments and an individualized care plan
Escorts for meals, community outings, and services
Individualized comforting during times of stress and sundowning
Transportation and escort service for medical appointments
Medical appointment scheduling
Dementia-friendly social, recreational, and cultural programs and activities
Personal assistance with activities of daily living and emotional support
Specialized monitoring systems supportive of cognitive decline
Medication administration
Housekeeping and laundry
Ongoing communication between care staff, family, and physicians

GardenSong’s 2024 base monthly fee is $8,798.

Our Care Team

EastView’s Health Services leaders have decades of dementia care and elder care experience. Senior Nurse. Julie Taylor, RN, leads our team of Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, Licensed Nurses’ Aides, and Residential Care Assistants.

Our team is accessible 24/7, to assist our residents with their health care needs. Our Residential Care Assistants (RCAs) participate as key members of the health care team, implementing care in a manner that maintains a nurturing environment while supporting the health and independence of our residents.

Community Life & Programs

Days in GardenSong allow flexibility to support the rhythm of each resident. For most, this may be a slow start, beginning with activities that wake, stimulate and encourage gentle movement, and then progress to curiosity-stimulating programs when minds are sharpest. We wind down with peaceful, enjoyable activities at day’s end.

Our Community Life team delivers a diverse calendar of engaging and comforting activities ranging from foot stomping music to gentle stretching and hand massages. In GardenSong’s Discovery Room residents have easy access to both group and individual activities that offer creative, sensory and mind-stimulating experiences. Our team also provides personalized Namaste services to gently soothe anxious moments.
