Our chef is dedicated to crafting meals featuring farm fresh food. And every season brings a parade of new delicious fare, including lots of celebratory feasts that feature ethnic cuisine and family traditions.

As a charter member of The Vermont Fresh Network, Chef Merrill is inspired by local foods and fresh flavors and driven by the desire to provide guests with the very best quality and nutrition for the most satisfying dining experience.

Every day sees the professional kitchen staff, with over 150 combined years of experience, preparing and cooking the foods that will be showcased on that day’s menu, using only fresh, raw ingredients, following Chef Merrill’s lead in the quest for the very best.

Seasoned Executive Chef David Merrill utilizes his 40+ years providing fine dining for resorts and hotels to deliver exquisite fare for EastView. He was the Executive Chef at Basin Harbor Club on Lake Champlain for 19 years before joining EastView’s leadership team.

EastView offers a lovely dining room in each of our Inn neighborhoods. Cottage residents are welcome to eat at the Inn any time. Residents living in MeadowSweet and GardenSong are provided three nutritious meals chosen from a daily specials menu of options. Independent Living Residents enjoy dinner in the Terrace Dining Room and Brunch on Sunday. Plus, we have a Bistro/Café near the main lobby where there is the option for enjoying a mid-day meal such as a chef’s salad, the featured specials of the day, homemade soup, and made-to-order sandwiches for eating in or picking up lunch to go. We have a private dining room that may be reserved for small group gatherings.

Our Dining Services team also offers catering services for larger events, such as special luncheons, birthday and anniversary gatherings, family reunions, as well as providing refreshment service for our weekly Resident meetings.  And when one just needs a quiet evening at home, meals may be ordered ahead to be picked up or delivered to your door.

We are Healthy

Every meal features a Heart Healthy entrée, a vegetarian option, four vegetable options, and a daily Fruit Plate.  Our menus are designed to accommodate almost any individual dietary preference or need. A member of our culinary team will gladly meet with any resident or family member to discuss specific nutritional needs.


We are Local

We receive daily deliveries from a host of local farms and food producers. Our culinary team delights in creating delicious entries complemented by seasonal fruits and vegetables, and a confection or two.  Here are some of the farms we support.


We have Variety

Our team serves up lots of favorites. What’s on your list? Steak Night, the Fish and Seafood specials served twice a week, Pancake breakfasts with Vermont Maple syrup, Italian night, or a taste of world cuisine from places like Germany, Greece, Thailand and India.  Our chefs love to receive requests and then integrate new savory treats for our diners’ delight.
